We are looking for a skilled HR Generalist to join our 6-person HR team and support the HR Manager in delivering a seamless and positive experience across the entire employee life-cycle. The HR Generalist will provide knowledge and expertise in full-cycle payroll processing, and will be hands-on in processing bi-weekly payroll utilizing ADP Workforce Now, including the collection, review, input, editing, and verification of all payroll data for approximately 245 employees.

You will also be heavily involved in benefits administration, including the processing of new enrollments, benefit changes, terminations and communicating benefits to employees.  

The ideal candidate will be a true generalist with proven experience in HR Operations to include administration of HR policies, new hire onboarding, legal compliance, employee benefits, FMLA, employee relations, employee communications, and talent acquisition.

 

Here's what you can expect day to day...

Payroll Administration

  • Process employee payroll throughout the annual twenty-six payroll periods, auditing and ensuring payroll is accurate. Serve as the subject matter expert on all payroll-related inquiries.
  • Ensure that the payroll processing instruction manual is kept up to date so that others may process and post payroll. Assists with training managers and supervisors on timekeeping system.
  • Partners with HR Manager to assist with managing all quarter and year-end activity, including tax reconciliation and reporting, as well as distribution of timely and accurate annual earnings statements (W-2s).

Benefits Administration

  • Act as internal staff consultant and employee point of contact for benefits-related issues, benefits questions, changes and updates.
  • Assist HR Manager with the management of leave programs including FMLA, STD, and LTD; ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately, on time, and forwarded to the appropriate parties. Track and document all leave hours, certifying that employees receive the proper payout for any leave time.

Employee Relations

  • Conduct exit interviews and deliver findings to management to continuously improve the employee experience.
  • Be the first point of contact on employee relations issues to conduct intake and work with the HR Manager to compose corrective action documents and/or investigate complaints, recognizing when escalation of a situation is necessary.

New Hire Orientation

  • Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring all new employees correctly complete paperwork and are provided all applicable on-boarding materials; properly guide them through United Heritage policies and procedures and answering any questions.

Other Responsibilities 

  • Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing requirements, and advising management on needed actions. 

 

Here's what you bring to our HR Team: 

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in a related field. PHR/SHRM certification is a plus!
  • 2+ years' hands-on, full-cycle payroll processing experience, preferably for an employee population of 200+.
  • You have a passion for processing hourly and salaried employee payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • You have 2+ years of uninterrupted, progressive HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated experience leading the full employment life-cycle, from on-boarding to departure.
  • You are not afraid of Excel, and have the ability to use Pivot Tables, formulas, and conditional formatting partnered with analytical and problem-solving experience.
  • You are obsessive about the new hire experience, committed to creating a positive and welcoming environment for new employees.
  • You enjoy HR Operations and demonstrate knowledge of employee benefits to include annual open enrollment. Knowledge and experience with FMLA administration and self-funded health plans is a plus.
  • An ability to multi-task with accuracy, and take on new challenges without getting overwhelmed.
  • Organized, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage your time.
  • You enjoy collaborations and working with a team, but also possess the ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, leverage resources, and execute with limited direction.
  • You are a master communicator with the ability to convey information to employees in an easy to understand manner. You are well-spoken on the phone and eloquent in emails.
  • Ability to maintain focus and keep a strong eye on the details in an ambiguous and changing environment.
